Mission: 

Friends of the Children-Boston is a prevention/early intervention program whose mission is to help high-risk children develop the relationships, goals, and skills necessary to break the cycles of poverty, abuse and violence in order to become contributing members of society. We believe that our society's most vulnerable, at-risk children have the strength, motivation, and ability to rise above adverse circumstances if given the opportunity to do so. Our Friends provide that opportunity.

The Network/La Red is a survivor-led, social justice organization that works to end partner abuse in lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, BDSM, polyamorous, and queer communities. Rooted in anti-oppression principles, our work aims to create a world where all people are free from oppression. We strengthen our communities through organizing, education, and the provision of support services.

How to get involved/application guidelines and procedures: 

All candidates for high school (grade 9) admission must fill out an application and take either the SSAT or Catholic High School Entrance Exam. All applicants for the Arrupe Division (grade 7) must fill out the Arrupe Division application and take the ISEE. Please pay special attention to the deadlines for each. Each fall we offer an Open House for grade 9 applicants, Information Nights for Arrupe applicants, and from October through February, we invite any interested 6th or 8th grader to spend the day with us as an "Eagle for a Day."

To get started, please create an online Eagle Admission Account. This account will allow you to apply online, schedule visits and check the status of your application materials

As a reflection of our Jesuit ideals and keeping with the school's founding principle's, we offer financial aid to qualifying families.It is our hope that our offers of need based financial aid open the doors of our school to young men who would not otherwise be able to fmfake the education offered by BC High a reality. For the 2009-2010 school year, almost 500 students will receive need-based aid with the middle 50 percent of those awards falling between $4,300 and $9,999.

The purpose of the Dorchester Historical Society, founded in 1843 and incorporated in 1891, is to collect, preserve, and disseminate knowledge of the history of that section of the City of Boston which was formerly the Town of Dorchester; to hold, and aid in the preservation of, historic buildings and sites in the area; to care for, and from time to time, exhibit such articles of historic or antiquarian interest as may come into its possession.
