MIRA is coming to Dorchester to offer FREE legal assistance to all eligible green card holders wanting to apply for U.S Citizenship!

MIRA experts, volunteer attorneys, and trained members will help you fill out the Naturalization application (Form N400), step by step.

 

To be eligible to become a citizen, you must:  

  • Have been a legal permanent resident for 5 years or 3 years if married to US citizen. 
  • Have no serious problems with the law.
  • Speak, write, and read basic English (some may be eligible for an exemption).

The Haitian Multi-Service Center will hold an Information Session for ESOL for Human Services,Wednesday February 12th 11:00 am- 2:30 pm at the Haitian Multi-Service Center.

Adult Education Programs | August 29 + 30

 

The Haitian Multi-Service Center will be hosting an Adult Education Program. This program will help Haitian adults as well as others with essential skills that will have life-long benefits. Some of the topics the program will cover is literacy and economic self-sufficiency. The program serves more than 400 Haitian adults each year throughout 19 classes. Each students sets his or her own goals and the teachers integrate those goals into the class curriculum. The classes will go for 12 weeks. There is an open, walk-in registration event on August 29 and August 30 from 11pm to 2pm at 185 Columbia Road, Dorchester MA. For more info, call 617-506-6600.

Haitian Heritage Month, Unity Parade May 15

Haitian-Americans UnitedViv Ayiti! May is Haitian Heritage Month! The 11th Annual Haitian-American Unity Parade will take place 

Sunday, May 15, 2011, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and departing from Mattapan Square (Blue Hill Ave to Talbot Ave). The month of May carries distinctive dates that are important to Haitians and people of Haitian descent. As a result, Haitian Heritage Month has been celebrated in Massachusetts since 1999 and in Florida since 2000.

Catholic Charities Greater Boston is a community service center of Catholic Charities, Archdiocese of Boston. Career Pathways: The Career Pathways program supports both youth and adult programs with next-step options through career exploration, internships, job shadowing opportunities, and employment. It may also include individual case management.
