Boston City Singers 2nd Annual Gala March 30

Boston City Singers will be hosting their second annual Global Voices GALA to benefit the young voices of Boston City Singers. The Gala will be held on Friday, March 30, 2012 from 6:30 to 10:30 at Venezia on the Waterfront in Dorchester. Enjoy cocktails, dinner, entertainment, and an auction in benefit to a great cause! Try Out a Free Class with Boston City Singers Jan. 11

Do you have or know a child that loves to sing? Try out a class with Boston City Singers for Free! On Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at 4:00 p.m. the organization will be offering just that. For children ages 4 to 7, there is the Kodály Singing Class, and a Training Chorus Program for children in grades 2 - 6. The class will be held at All Saints Ashmont at 209 Ashmont Street in Dorchester. For more information, check out Boston City Singers' website. Boston City Singers in Upham's Corner Dec. 11

On Sunday, December 11, Boston City Singers will partner with Pope John Paul II Catholic Academy Choir for the Inspiring Young Voices Holiday Winter Stars Concert. The concert will be at Holy Family Church at 24 Hartford Street in Upham's Corner, Dorchester. The concert will be at 3:00 p.m. and doors will open at 2:30. Boston City Singers Registration, Sep. 14

Registration for The Boston City Singers classes will take place on Wednesday, September 14, 2011 from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. at All Saints Ashmont, 209 Ashmont Street, Dorchester, MA. Classes start at 4:00 p.m., after registration. Boston City Singers uses a distinctive curriculum that trains children as young as three years old to learn to sing well. No other major area chorus program starts with children so young! Each singer progresses through several levels: Kodály Singing Class, Neighborhood Training Chorus and Concert Chorus. The singers learn about diverse communities and cultures by performing an extensive repertoire including gospel music, international folk music, opera, jazz, and medieval chant.

Boston City SingersStand up and sing! The Boston City Singers will hold 2011 - 2012 School Year auditions for ages 4 - 17 on Saturday, June 4 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Auditions take place at All Saints Church, 209 Ashmont St., Dorchester, MA by Ashmont T Station. Boston City Singers' tuition-based training sessions take place in Dorchester and Jamaica Plain, after school and on Saturdays during the school year. Boston City Singers teaches over 350 inspiring young singers in nine choruses. Most singers are boys and girls (ages 4-18) from Boston‘s underserved neighborhoods. Boston City Singers' "Over the Rainbow" Wins Boston Pops Contest

Congratulations to Dorchester's Boston City Singers! The music group, renowned for its nine urban youth chorus programs, announced May 9 that their rendition of "Over The Rainbow" has been selected to be included in the Boston Pops Over The Rainbow video collage. This will be shown throughout the 2011 Boston Pops Season that starts on Wednesday, May 11 and continues through Sunday, June 26.
