Closing SHVAM Event @ LDB Peace Institute Dec. 20

The Louis D. Brown Peace Institute will commemorate the closing of SHVAM (Survivors of Homicide Victims Awareness Month) with an event called "Remembering the Love Not the Loss," which will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on December 20. The event will be an evening dedicated to remembering and celebrating the lives of loved ones lost. The event will feature activities for children & families, the Louis D. Painters Rags @ Howard Art Project Opens Dec. 9

Howard Art Project, Dorchester's newest gallery, will be hosting an opening for their second show: Painter's Rags and Other Artists Clothing. The show asks exhibiting artists to look at their own wardrobe with the same criticality one would look at art. The opening will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The gallery is located at 1486 Dorchester Ave. in Fields Corner, and is also open on Saturdays during exhibitions from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. or by appointment. Fields Corner Tree Lighting Nov. 26

The Fields Corner Tree Lighting Ceremony will be taking place this year on Saturday, November 26, at the corner of Dorchester Ave and Park Street in Dorchester, MA. The event is entirely free and open to the public! Celebrate the start of the holiday season with your friends & neighbors and enjoy the Blarney Stone's delicious hot cocoa, tasty treats and caroling! Henderson / Harbor Fundraiser @ Blarney Stone Nov. 3

On Thursday, November 3, there will be a fundraiser to support the Henderson/Harbor Schools partnership. All are welcome! The event will be at the Blarney Stone, where you can enjoy drinks and snacks upon admission. 7th Annual Martinis on the Avenue Nov. 16

Wednesday, November 16th - it is time for the 7th annual "Martinis on the Avenue," a fundraiser to support the work of SMAMS (St. Marks Area Main Streets) and Fields Corner Main Streets. This year's event will honor the many years of service of District City Councillor Maureen Feeney with a Feeney-tini! The event is happening 7 to 10 p.m. at the Blarney Stone, 1505 Dorchester Avenue. Tickets cost $30 advance, $35 at the door. This money will help SMAMS and FCMS revitalize our Dorchester Ave business districts.
