Grove Hall Branch Holiday Celebration Dec. 22

On Thursday, December 22, the Grove Hall Branch of the Boston Public Library will be hosting a winter celebration from 6 to 7:30 PM! Join neighbors for hot cocoa, cider, cookies, and crafts to celebrate the winter season. A fun, free event for the entire family: everyone is welcome. Muhammad's Mosque No. 11 Holiday Celebration Dec. 1

Muhammad's Mosque No. 11 will be hosting a Holiday Celebration on December 1st, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. There will be refreshments, movies, music and holiday cheer. The event is cosponsored by Greater Grove Hall Main Streets, and the event will be held at the Grove Hall Community Center. Grove Hall Branch Holiday Open House Dec. 10

On Saturday, December 10, 2011, Friends of the Grove Hall Branch Library will be hosting a Holiday Open House and Book Sale from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.! Grove Hall Branch is located at 41 Geneva Avenue in Dorchester. The open house will include a book sale, raffle, prizes, and refreshments. This is a great opportunity to join the Friends of the Library, meet your neighbors, pick up some good books, and enjoy the party! The event is free of cost. Grove Hall Post Office Meeting Nov. 9

On Wednesday, November 9, there will be a community meeting at the Grove Hall Community Center regarding the possible closing of the Grove Hall Post Office. The meeting will be from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Postal representatives will be there to discuss alternative services available to the community, the services you now receive, and what effect officially discontinuing the Grove Hall Branch will have on customers and the community. Reach Coalition Meeting Nov. 7

There will be a REACH (Racial and Ethnic Approaches to Community Health) Coalition meeting November 7 at the Grove Hall Community Center. Dinner will be served at 5:30 p.m. and the meeting will begin at 6:00 p.m. The Grove Hall Community Center is located at 51 Geneva Avenue in Roxbury. On Saturday, November 5, at 1:00 p.m. you are invited to attend a ceremonial street naming in honor of Bishop Nellie C. Yarborough! Plant Daffodils with Greater Grove Hall Oct. 29

Help beautify Grove Hall with Greater Grove Hall Main Streets! On Saturday, October 29, residents will be planting daffodils that will bloom in the springtime! Meet at 320B Blue Hill Ave. Breakfast will be provided from 7:30 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. and planting will be from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Have questions? Ideas for planting locations? Grove Hall Peace Walk Oct. 26

Join the bi-weekly Grove Hall Peace Walk from Deliverance Temple Church. If you want peace, demand it! The next walk will be held from 5:00 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. on October 26th. Afterwards, meet with Prject RIGHT to discuss how to make the neighborhood safer. Deliverance Temple is located at 232 Columbia Road in Dorchester. Grove Hall Youth Workers' Alliance Meeting Oct. 19

On Wednesday, October 19th, a Grove Hall Youth Workers Alliance Meeting will be held from 10:00 a.m. to noon at the MLK K - 8 school. The school is located at 77 Lawrence Avenue in Dorchester. The Grove Hall Youth Worker's Alliance is a consortium of youth service provider agencies that meet on a monthly basis. Agencies include members from the field of education, criminal justice agencies, community-based organizations, and social service providers. Plans for the school year will be discussed. Bring program information and business cards to share with everyone! 

Grove Hall Peace Walk Oct. 12

The bi-weekly Grove Hall Peace Walk, hosted by Project RIGHT, is taking place this Wednesday, October 12, at 5:00 p.m. The walk will leave from Deliverance Temple Church, 232 Columbia Road.
