Give Kids A Smile @ Codman Sq. Feb. 4

On Saturday, February 4 Give Kids a Smile (GKAS) will be held at Codman Square Health Center! From 9 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. dental staff will be volunteering their time to provide free dental care and education children, including examinations, professional cleanings, fluoride treatments, sealants, restorations, oral surgery, and x-rays! Greenspace Hearing in Codman Square Jan. 18

Support the Talbot Norfolk Triangle Greenspace Master Plan! On Wednesday, January 18, the Department of Neighborhood Development will seek feedback from the neighborhood on future uses for numerous city-owned, vacant parcels of land. The Talbot Norfolk Triangle (TNT) Norfolk lots in question are  2 Woodrow Ave, 4-6 Woodrow Ave, 93 Norfolk Street, 106 Norfolk Street and 131-133 Southern Ave. The January hearing will take place at The Great Hall in Codman Square (located at 6 Norfolk Street in Dorchester) from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on January 18. Please note, this event's date changed from Jan. 17 to Jan. 18. Healthworks Holiday Coat Drive Dec. 15 & 16

Healthworks is holding their annual Holiday Coat Drive on Thursday, December 15th from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and on Friday, December 16th, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Swing by 450 Washington to pick up (or drop off) a gently worn coat to keep warm this winter! Dorchester Winter Farmers' Market, Feb 12

This Sunday, February 12, the Winter Farmers' Market will be celebrating Valentine's DayHealthworks Fitness sponsors. Make valentines and engage in healthy heart activities!

Boston's first, and Dorchester's own Winter Farmer's Market has proved to be a huge success! It opened Sunday, January 8th, and will happen every Sunday in January, February and March. Come early and ready to buy fresh and local vegetables, fruits, cheeses, meats and more!

Market hours are noon to 3:00 p.m., January through March. Customers enjoy local entertainment, workshops, music, and more. The market is held at the Great Hall of Codman Square Health Center, at the corner of Washington and Norfolk Streets. Macy's Enchanted Trolley Tour and Tree Lighting Dec. 2

Macy's Enchanted Trolley Tours will be touring Boston on December 2, 3, and 4th this year. On December 2nd, the route will include sites in Dorchester and Mattapan! The ride occurs to observe Holiday Cheer in 15 neighborhoods of Boston. Here is the schedule for Friday, December 2nd:

5:30 p.m: West Roxbury at the Roche Family Ctr
6:15 p.m: Readville in Wolcott Square
6:45 p.m: Mattapan in Mattapan Square
7:15 p.m: Dorchester in Codman Square
7:45 p.m: Dorchester in Adams Corner

Codman Square Health Center Turkey Giveaway Nov. 15

From 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Codman Square Health Center Food Pantry will be holding a turkey giveaway for clients of the food pantry. The Turkey Giveaway is during the normal hours of operation at Codman Square Health Center Food Pantry. To learn more about how you can become a client, please call 617.474.1422.To register, come to the center on the distribution day, and bring ID with address.

Codman Square Toy Giveaway Dec. 17

On December 17, Codman Square Health Center will be hosting their annual toy giveaway in the Great Hall! The event will be from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., and include some holiday fun: games, food, drinks, and holiday cheer. To receive a free gift, you must be a patient of Codman Square Health Center. Jiggijac's Tastefest Oct. 22

Jiggijac's, a catering business located near Codman Square (at 66 Brent St. in Dorchester), is hosting Tastefest on Saturday, October 22nd. Join Jiggijac's tasting event for an afternoon of great food, and try some of what they have to offer. The event will be $10 per ticket, two for $15. Community Meetings: Urban Agr., Sep. 29 and Oct. 4

Fresh Fruits and VeggiesAs part of an ongoing effort to increase access to affordable, fresh food in Boston, the City of Boston Department of Neighborhood Development has solicited proposals from qualified farmers to cultivate on two City properties in Dorchester. Join the DND as these farmers present their proposals.

A proposal for development of 131 Glenway St. will be presented on Thursday, September 29, at 6:00 p.m. This community meeting will take place at the Erie Ellington Community Center, 31 Erie St., Dorchester, MA.
