Founded in 1881, The Boston Home serves adults with advanced Multiple Sclerosis and other progressive neurological diseases. Exceptional clinical care, compassion, and innovative programs have earned us the designation “Center for Excellence in Long-term Care” from the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. The only facility of its kind in New England and only one of a handful nationwide, The Boston Home touches the lives of thousands of people as we serve our residents, outpatients, and their families, and share our knowledge with healthcare professionals nationwide.

Our residents and outpatients are typically:

• 54 years old on average

• Significantly physically disabled

• Intellectually curious

• Seeking to live full lives not defined by their disabilities

Our families play an integral role in our community, involved in care plans, activities, and support groups. A staff of 200 delivers highly skilled care with warmth and creativity.

Volunteers, vendors, interns, and partner organizations — representing education, arts, and technology — help us extend our services.

By developing personal and professional relationships with and among our members, we support, guide and challenge them to create a healthy lifestyle through movement, nourishment and education.

Labouré is a small, urban, private, Catholic college. Our distinct focus is education for practice in the health sector. We grant the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (for RNs) and the associate in science degree in nursing (RN) and in allied health. We are a member of the Caritas Christi family, the second largest health care system in New England. Your education will take place throughout hospitals within the Caritas system, as well as, other academic medical centers, teaching and community hospitals, and ambulatory care settings in and around Boston.

The Upham's Corner Health Center is committed to provide high quality, low cost, culturally sensitive, community-based health and social services to the residents of Dorchester.
Our goal is to provide comprehensive health and social services of the highest quality that are affordable, physically and culturally accessible, delivered in a dignified manner, and have a positive effect upon the client's well - being.

To remain a vital community resource as a member of the Caritas Christi Health Care System - a network of Catholic health care providers. Through our programs and services, which cover the spectrum of health care, we affirm the sanctity of life, advocate for the poor and disenfranchised, and exercise responsibility for the common good.

-Serve as a primary health care provider without regard to race, sex, color, political philosophy, or religious belief or ability to pay.

-Participate, so far as circumstances may warrant, in any activity designed and execute to promote the general health of families and children of the North Dorchester, Mattapan, and Roxbury communities of Boston in particular, and the City of Boston in general.

-Serve as a primary source in all health education activities relating to rendering care to the sick and injured, or to the promotion of physical and mental health.

-Provide assistance to the community in the development implementation and analysis of health services and policies.

-Initiate and participate in health related research which promotes the well being of the communities served..

It is also HSNHC’s philosophy that quality health care should be made available, accessible, and acceptable to all people, and rendered in a dignified manner as a right rather than a privilege.

Neponset Health Center (NHC) provides preventive and chronic medical and behavioral health care to residents in Dorchester and the surrounding communities. All NHC physicians and nurse practitioners are Board Certified or Board Eligible in their specialty.

We opened our doors in 1979 with a dream: to build the best urban community in America. As part of this dream, we recognized that though health care begins by alleviating sickness, the journey to a true "culture of health" is achieved through the health of the whole person, and through the health of the whole community.  Our two-physician staff that summer of 1979 may have been small, but our mantra was not: while disease is a lack of health, health is not simply a lack of disease.

Today, with a staff of 280 employees, expert clinicians and medical staff, and an astounding depth and breadth of community programs, we believe that we are on our way toward reaching our dream of building the best urban community in America.
