Community Engagement and Membership Committee: Domestic Violence | May 28

The meeting, facilitated by Casa Myrna, will review how we define and talk about domestic violence, the types of abuse, cycles and patterns of abuse, barriers to partners leaving, myths about domestic violence, and resources for people who are currently in an abusive relationship or have been in the past. Boston Alliance for Community Health Speak Up! Event

Boston Alliance for Community Health (BACH) is partnering with 10 organizations to host a 2-day cross neighborhood conversation on community health in North Dorchester. Bowdoin Geneva, Fields Corner, Grove Hall, and Uphams Corner share many of the same community concerns around mental wellness, domestic violence, sexual health, and community violence. These neighborhoods have a wealth of resources, including great health centers, active community organizations, and diverse residents building the community's resiliency.The goal of BACH is to improve the coordination of systems that focuses on the key issues as a way to build community resilience and quality of life. The first day of the conversation will take place on Thursday, March 6th from 6:30 until 8:30 pm at Viet Aid located at 42 Charles Street in Dorchester.
