Join us for a unique gathering as we explore the impact of trauma and how various forms can leave people feeling worthless, powerless, hopeless, and oftentimes full of anger and rage. Our goal is to raise awareness about trauma and how it impacts us, while also emphasizing resiliency, leaving the participants with a sense of hope and an appreciation of their own strength.
The event is FREE AND OPEN TO ALL while targeted to communities of color that are most impacted by traumatic experiences, oppression, and the daily exposure to micro aggressions.
We will hear from academics, practitioners, clergy, community leaders and victims of violence and abuse. The gathering will include: breakfast and lunch for all participants, artistic presentations of dance, music, and spoken word; panel discussions, presentations and personal testimonies.
When: Saturday, May 16th
8:30AM-4:30PM
Where: JFK Presidential Library and Museum
