4th Sunday Tea Dance @ Savin Bar & Kitchen!

On October 30th, Rainbow on the Bridge will be presenting the monthly Tea Dance at Savin Bar & Kitchen! The event will be from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. every 4th Sunday of the month. There will be free giveaways to the first 25 people. There will also be free appetizers! Savin Bar & Kitchen is located at 112 Savin Hill Avenue, between Tuttle Street and Midland Street. Markets of New England Dinner Nov. 8

Check out a Book Dinner at Tavolo as it plays host to the Author of Markets of New England, Christine Chitnis, of Providence, RI. The event will be on Tuesday, November 8 at 7 p.m., and will feature a cornucopia of local food with an Italian accent! Tavolo chefs Chris Douglass and Nuno Alves will present a three course prix five menu of foods from Boston's urban farm markets to herald the arrival of the book at area bookstores. The book highlights the best of what you can find at 50 artisan and farmers markets from all over New England.

Welcoming the Howard Art Project! Oct. 21

Howard Art ProjectA brand new gallery is here in Dorchester, just in time for open studios! Howard Art Project, located at 1486 Dorchester Avenue, will be having an opening reception for their first show on Friday, October 21 in step with Dorchester Open Studios. The show, "Hot for Teacher," explores art that incorporates teaching into its subject matter. Howard Art Project is located near the Fields Corner T station on the Red Line. The ART show @ St. Mark's Oct. 23

On Sunday, Oct. 23, ARTiculation will be taking over St. Mark's School for The ART Show 2011. St. Mark's is one of many schools that have been shut down in the city due to budget cuts. It is now an after-school program center. In light of this, bring your books and canned goods to ARTiculation's mini ART Block Party! Books will be donated to the center, and canned goods will go to the Boston food bank. Visual ARTists are the stars of the show. The show will feature live art, musical performances, comedy, and a unique art gallery.


St. Marks is one of the many schools that have been shut down in the city due to budget cuts and is now an after school program center. In light of this ARTiculation will be asking for your books and canned goods! All books will be donated to the center and canned goods will go to the Boston food bank.

Boston Book FestivalOn Saturday, October 15, the 3rd Annual Boston Book Festival is happening in Copley Square! Swing by for discussions, workshops, events for kids and teens, readings and more. Music @ the Ashmont Farmers' Market, Sept 30

Enjoy music at the September 30, 2011 Ashmont / Peabody Square Farmers Market!

The Pan United Steel Drum Orchestra will provide the musical theme for the farmers' market this Friday, performing starting at 5 p.m.

Market vendors include Spring Brook Farm of Littleton, Langwater Farm of North Easton, and Dorchester's own Cedar Grove Gardens and Dot-2-Dot Cafe! Representatives from the Dorchester Environmental Health Coalition (DEHC) will also be there as usual, with interesting information and freebies.

The market runs every Friday, 3 - 7 PM through October 14 on the Ashmont Station Plaza. It accepts SNAP/Food Stamp benefits, WIC and Senior Nutrition coupons. SNAP shoppers can get up to $20 worth of veggies at half price through the Boston Bounty Bucks program!
