"OnTheDot" music and art festival | July 11

"On The Dot" music and art festival starting July 11th -July 13th @ DORCHESTER ARTS COLLABORATIVE from 7-10:30pm. All ages are welcome. There will be rap battles and other creative exercises. Come out & Enjoy!

End of Time Performance | July 31

On July 31, Ashmont Hill Chamber Music will host a very special event. Olivier Messiaen's Quartet for the End of Time will be performed by three time Grammy nominated clarinetist Todd Palmer, two time Grammy nominated violinist Jesse Mills,  pianist Rieko Aizawa from the Horszowski Trio, and cellist Julia Bruskin from the Claremont Trio. The pre-concert lecture goes from 6:30pm to 7:00pm. The concert starts at 7:00pm and finishes around 9:00pm. This performance will take place at First Parish (535 Canton Ave in Milton). Ashmont Hill Chamber Music Performance | June 9


The Ashmont Hill Chamber Music program presents its continuation of the 27th season. The next performance takes place on June 9 at 209 Ashmont Street in Dorchester starting at 7pm. Winter Concert 2012 | Dec. 9

On December 9th, Ashmont Hill Chamber Music presents the Winter Concert 2012. Led by Artistic Director and pianist Rachel Goodwin, Ashmont Hill Chamber Music opens their 27th season with the Winter Concert. The concert will take place at 3pm and will include violin, cello and piano. It will take place at 209 Ashmont Street in Dorchester. The concert is FREE and all are invited! Praxis Quartet @ Peabody Hall Nov. 6

On Sunday, November 6th, Ashmont Hill Chamber Music will present the Praxis Quartet - a young ensemble from New York that has met great acclaim. General Admission is $15, Senior Citizens & Students can enter for $12, and it is $35 for family admission. The show will be held at Peabody Hall at the Parish of All Saints, 209 Ashmont Street, Dorchester. All Saints Church is conveniently located a block from the Ashmont Station on the Red Line - drop by for a phenomenal concert! The quartet will feature Esther Noh and Courtney Orlando on violin, Arthur Dibble on viola, and Brian Snow on cello.

AHCM Concert: Music, Poetry, American Identity, May 22

Ashmont Hill Chamber Music presents “Music, Poetry and American Identity,” on Sunday, May 22 at 7 p.m. in Peabody Hall at the Parish of All Saints, 209 Ashmont Street, Dorchester. The Ashmont Hill Chamber Players will explore the world of Ruth Crawford Seeger (1901-1953), an early 20th century Modernist composer, who was inspired by the poems of Carl Sandburg. Poet Regie O’Hare-Gibson will first recite Sandburg’s poems, then mezzo-soprano D’Anna Fortunato will sing Crawford Seeger’s setting of the poems. The concert program also includes works by other 20th-century American composers including Jacob Druckman, Samuel Barber, Alec Wilder, Aaron Copland, and Charles Ives.
