SCI Breakfast | May 25

There will be a free breakfast and conversation with SCI (Social Capital Inc.) President David Crowley, SCI AmeriCorps members, and partners at Codman Square Health Center. They will be discussing SCI's inspiring mission and programming, in Dorchester and throughout Eastern Massachusetts. 

SCI’s mission is to strengthen communities by connecting diverse individuals and organizations through civic engagement initiatives. 

Jay Ash, Secretary for Housing and Economic Development for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, will join to offer some introductory remarks about social capital.

Come learn about how ways to get involved with SCI, including volunteering, being an SCI AmeriCorps host site or SCI AmeriCorps member, serving on our Board of Directors, or donating vital funds.

New DFSI AmeriCorps Member

Hello Dorchester!

DFSI Afterschool

I am Colin Hunt, the new SCI Americorps member at DotWell. This year I will be serving with the Dorchester FAMILY School Initiative (DFSI) to bring resources connections to community members. I am currently helping out at the Joseph Lee Complex and the Oliver W. Holmes School afterschool programs, facilitating connections and promoting community events. If you have any questions/comments about community resources in Dorchester, feel free to contact me at chunt@dotwell.org or at 617-474-1464.

Social Capital, Inc. is now recruiting for its 2011-2012 AmeriCorps team! Five members will serve in Dorchester with DotWell while thirteen others will serve in Boston, Fall River, Lynn, Milford or Woburn. AmeriCorps positions focus on youth, community and/or technological development of civic and non-profit organizations across Massachusetts - specifics are described after the break and detailed in attached documents.
