The 110th Dorchester Day Parade will take place on Sunday, June 1! Each year, the parade commences on the first Sunday in June. The parade starts at 1pm in Lower Mills at the corner of Washington Street and Dorchester Avenue. It will then travel along Dorchester Ave to Savin Hill at the corner of Columbia Road and Dorchester Ave. The parade route is 3.2 miles. Chief Marshal and the parade committee are proud to announce that the theme for the parade this year is "A Salute to the First Responders!"
Mayor of Dorchester Candidate, Erin Murphy, is hosting a Karaoke Night at St. Brendan’s Church in Father Lane Hall, 15 Rita Rd. The event will begin at 7pm and all of the event proceeds will benefit the Dorchester Day Parade Committee. Joey McEarchern is the guest DJ and the cost of admission is $25 at the door. Don't miss the Little Miss & Young Miss Dorchester Contests! The contests will take place on May 11 at 2pm in First Parish Church (10 Parish Street in Dorchester). All girls entering the contest must be: residents of Dorchester, able to participate in the Dorchester Day Parade, able to provide a copy of their birth certificate if they win or are a runner-up, attach their response to one of the offered questions and read/recite it at the day of the contest, 7-12 years old on the day of the contest.
