VietAID's 2017 Mid-Autumn Moon Festival | Oct. 14

Join VietAID on Saturday, October 14th, for a fun afternoon! In Vietnamese tradition, this occasion is a gathering of family and friends to celebrate the summer’s harvest under a full moon. Building on that tradition, we hope to bring together our neighbors in the Boston community. Activities will include lantern making, outdoor games, and a competition for best bánh trung thu, Vietnamese moon cakes. We will end the festival at sundown with a lighting of lanterns.

 

When: October 14th, 12pm-6pm

Muslims in America Share their Experiences | May 18

Please join Dorchester People for Peace  for the second event of the Solidarity Project Series: Muslims in America Share their Experiences. 

In response to anti-Islamic rhetoric and proposed anti-immigrant policies, the refugee crisis in Europe, and increasing ISIS attacks, progressive Muslims will share their views on Islam, Militarism, Islamophobia, and Politics.

Take Back the Night 2016 | April 28

Come rally with YEP, MassCOSH, and Viet-AID from Savin Hill Station to Viet-Aid Community Center and protest against sexual violence and victim blaming! 

MAKE SOME NOISE and march from Savin Hill Station to Viet-AID starting at 6pm. Let people know that you will not be silent and fight for a world without sexual violence, domestic violence, and without fear of either.

SHARE YOUR STORIES at Viet-AID at 7pm at open mic. Food provided!

CREATE ART by making your very own anti-violence patch. Pin it to your clothes, bag, or wall and tell folks how to prevent sexual and domestic violence through this creative tool.

VietAID Lunar New Year (Tết) Event l Feb 20

Welcome to 2016, the year of the Monkey!  VietAID invites you to join them in celebrating the Lunar New Year (Tet). Tet is considered the biggest and most important festival for the Vietnamese people. This is a holiday bearing historical and cultural significance and is celebrated by time-honored traditions. VietAID annually hosts a Lunar New Year celebration, which always draws crowds of 250-300 people. This year will include traditional ceremonies, entertainment, children's games and, of course, food and drink.

Celebrate Lunar New Year, 2016 | Feb 6

Celebrate the Year of the Monkey and explore Chinese, Korean, and Vietnamese traditions while enjoying activities, demonstrations, and performances throughout the day. As you travel through the Museum and enjoy the art, be sure to look for the vibrant floral arrangements around the building and visit the MFA’s new display in Gallery 274, featuring art from the prosperous and vibrant Song dynasty (960–1279)—regarded as the pinnacle of Chinese art and aesthetics.

Presented in partnership with VietAID, Boston Chinatown Neighborhood Center, the Korean Cultural Society of Boston and the Chinese Cultural Connection. Additional support provided by the National Museum of Korea.

1st Annual VietAID Bike-A-Thon | May 9

You're invited to VietAID's first annual bike-a-thon on Saturday May 9th. Our goal is to promote biking in Dorchester, and raise money for VietAID's Youth Program: VSPY. While both rides are free, we strongly encourage you to consider donating to VietAID on our website. At the event we will have a raffle including some outstanding prizes to raise money.

Dorchester's Holiday Spectacular | Dec. 14
