What:
UMass Boston has filed an Expanded Environmental Notification Form (EENF) with the Massachusetts Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs in accordance with the regulations set forth by the Massachusetts Environmental Policy Act (MEPA) Office.
The EENF filing document presents UMass Boston's initial assessment of the potential environmental impacts for its 25-year Master Plan. In addition, the EENF presents several initial Phase One projects that will be completed over the next few years, including the Integrated Sciences Complex, road relocation projects, construction of a segment of a proposed new utility corridor, rebuilding the Fox Point dock, and construction of approximately 800 linear feet of Harborwalk and shoreline stabilization along the northern edge of campus.

The MEPA Office invites the general public to a consultation session on the UMass Boston EENF filing on September 16, 2010, from 3-5 p.m. in the UMass Boston Campus Center Ballroom. This session will provide agencies, organizations, and all interested constituents with the opportunity to hear more about the filing, to offer comments and feedback, and to ask questions. UMass Boston will also hold a community meeting about the EENF filing on the evening of September 16, 2010 from 6-7:30 p.m. in the UMass Boston Campus Center Ballroom. Representatives from the MEPA office will also be in attendance.

In addition, comments on the EENF are welcome and should reference the project and should be sent in writing by mail, email, fax, or hand delivery by September 24, 2010 to the MEPA office of the Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs at the following address:
