Position Title: Group Leader
Group Leader Responsibilities:
• Responsible for 10-13 students.
• Leads students in enrichment activities.
• Assists teachers during homework and academic enrichment.
• Provides supervision of students during presentations, gym, pool and outdoor activities.
• Prepares material for activities.
• Assists Site Coordinator with dismissal.
• Performs administrative duties as necessary.
• Other tasks as required.
Skills Required:
• High school graduate.
• Minimum of five years’ experience working in a youth program and 2 years experience in program administration.
• Ability to work with staff and external collaborators to develop a holistic program that includes arts, sports, technology, life skills, and culturally appropriate activities.
• Experience working in multicultural setting.
Additional Requirements:
• First Aid and CPR certified
• Verification of Education
• Physical Exam and evidence of 2 doses of MMR or immunity
• Meet Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) Required Group Leader Qualifications.
Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) Required Group Leader Qualifications:
A group leader must be at least 18 years of age and meet one of the following sets of requirements:
1. Bachelor’s Degree or an Associate’s Degree; and have 3 months of experience working with school-age children including 3 months supervised experience at a school-age child care program; or
2. Have a High School diploma or equivalent; and have 6 months experience working with school-age children including 3 months supervised experience at a school-age child care program; or
3. Have 9 months experience with school-age children including 3 months supervised experience at a school-age child care program.
