Asian Longhorned Beetle - Be Alert!

Asian Longhorned Beetles were discovered recently infesting 6 trees in Jamaica Plain near the Arnold Arboretum. This pest, imported in packing materials from China, could destroy most of our common shade trees in parks and forests, in our yards and along our streets. DEHC is helping to get the word out to inform citizen observers so many eyes are looking out for this invasive pest.

Over 25,000 trees were cut down in Worcester to fight the spread of the beetle after it was discovered in August 2008.
