Youth and Teen Symposium | May 2
On Friday, May 2 Consciously Exposed Cafe will host a Teen and Youth Symposium. This event will take place at the Grove Hall Community Center at 51 Geneva Avenue in Roxbury from 4:30 pm until 7:00 pm. This event is hosted by Leonard Tshitenge, a poet, youth/community speaker, and Founder of Consciously Exposed Cafe. There will also be a guest speaker by the name of Dr. Ulric Johnson. Dr. Johnson is a mental health counselor, Director of teens against gang violence, and Co-founder of the peaceable schools and community groups. This event is titled "Hopelessness in the City: bullying, teen gangs, and sexual violence".
Consciously Exposed Cafe hosts a monthly free community event that focuses on discussing a broad spectrum of topics through poetry, books, documentaries, and constructive dialogue. The objective of the cafe is to cultivate the mind strengthen a positive school of thought and encourage community folks to talk about issues that impact the community and beyond.
