Gates Millenium Scholarship Workshops @ Northeastern
The Gates Millennium Scholarship funds a student's education for up to 10 years of study and is a unique opportunity for current high school seniors who:
Identify as a student of color
Are considered "low-income" by meeting the Federal Pell Grant eligibility (www.finaid.org)
Have a 3.3 unweighted GPA/4.0 scale in your senior year of high school
is a citizen, national, or legal permanent resident of the United States
Northeastern University is offering GMS@NU Workshops for high school seniors who meet the above criteria to help students successfully complete the rigorous GMS application. Last year, 7 Boston Public School students won the Gates Millennium Scholarship; 5 of those students received help from the GMS@NU Workshops.
If you meet the criteria above, please make a personal commitment to complete the GMS application by the January 11 deadline. The GMS scholarship is life-changing. The application is rigorous, but it can be done with support and strategy.
Workshop spaces are offered on a first-come, first-serve basis. You do not have to attend all of the workshops to participate. Please email Eiko Tsukamoto to reserve a space in any or all, of the workshops at least 48 hours in advance of each workshop.
The workshops will be held:
November 10 (4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.)
December 5 (4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.)
January 7 (2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.)
