Do the Write Thing Essay Contest!
Do the Write Thing! |
Dear Middle-School Teachers, and Students,
Mayor Walsh encourages all middle-school students to participate in Boston's 2015 Do the Write Thing writing competition. Every year, two Boston students are selected to serve as National Ambassadors at the National Campaign to Stop Violence's Do The Write Thing National Celebration in Washington DC. One of the program's primary objectives is to motivate students to make a personal commitment, in writing, to help prevent and reduce youth violence in their home, school, and communities. The students are then asked to address these three questions in an essay for submission: How has youth violence and drugs affected my life? DTWT submissions are due on Friday, April 24. See attached materials for further background. If you'd like to learn more, please reach out to Eliza Wilson. See instructions. See consent form. |
