Pope John Paul II Catholic Academy will have an Open Houses at their Columbia Campus at 9AM, and Lower Mills Campus at 6PM., both will be on Wednesday, January 29. All families interested in the Academy for students in Preschool (Age 2.9) - Grade 8 are welcome to attend.

Port Norfolk Park | January 21

The state’s Department of Conservation and Recreation will lead a presentation on plans to build a park on the site of a former paper plant in Port Norfolk on Tues., Jan. 21. The meeting will start at 7p.m. at Port Norfolk Yacht Club, 179 Walnut St. State officials last month announced that they will commit $4.25 million to fix- the 14-acre waterfront site over the next three years. A December meeting on the topic was postponed until January due to a snowstorm.

Wednesday, January 22 at 5pm, As the end of the Fairmount Indigo Planning Initiative draws near, please join the open house to learn about recommendations for economic development, street improvements, and housing in Upham's Corner. Your input will help create a final report to help us collectively work to implement the recommendations.

Got Talent | January 31

Friday January 31 between 6pm-8:30pm, "Got Talent" Youth Talent Showcase will be taking place in the Joseph Lee School Auditorium at the Perkins Community Center (155 Talbot Avenue Dorchester, MA). This showcase is to have youth & families from all genres of interest come and all neighborhoods of the city to display their artistic expression on stage for the enjoyment of all.

The "Got Talent" showcase series was formed in 2009 via collaboration between Matt Parker- a heralded youth worker in the communities of Boston, and the Perkins Community Center Youth Program staff. Several succesful events over the years made this a premier venue for youth talent. Now back to kick off the 2014 year, the Got Talent Showcase is sure to be a fun time!

Please come out and support her because it doesn't get much closer to home than this. Tickets: $5 at the door (to go to musician). $10 minimum spend per person for dinner menu.
