The Red Thread Fellowship
Applications for 2011-2012 Red Thread Fellowship Program are now Open! The Red Thread Fellowship is available to college-bound women of international backgrounds who will be entering an American college or university in fall 2011. The fellowship consists of two parts: a scholarship award and year-long mentorship support. The Red Thread Foundation for Women's mission is to provide women of under-served, international backgrounds with financial support and mentorship to help them succeed academically and professionally.
Specifically, a $1,000 educational grant will be provided to help offset the cost of tuition, books, and living expenses. However The Red Thread Foundation for Women believe that the scholarship award can achieve truly positive results only if it’s coupled with the recipient’s clarity and focus on her professional and personal goals. Trustees will serve as mentors to the Fellow, guiding her to prepare a five-year personal strategic plan. The mentorship component also gives the Fellow an opportunity to benefit from the trustees’ experiences, unique skill-sets and global networks in order to help her achieve her objectives. Candidates for the program must submit their applications online by May 15th, 2011. Please pass this opportunity along to any Dorchester youth who may qualify for this promising opportunity.
