DotWell Tax Clinics

Confused by taxes? Uncertain of how to file? There's no need to pay a tax preparer. Come to the DotWell Tax Clinics! This year, the DotWell tax clinics run January 15 to April 18. Visitors can complete Federal and State taxes, receive a review of their credit report and score, buy savings bonds, and open bank accounts. Best of all, it's free and open to the community at large. Eligibility requirement:
Taxpayers earning less than $49,000/year

At the tax site visitors can:
Complete Federal and State taxes
Review credit report and score
Buy savings bonds
Open a bank account

At the Codman Sq tax site, taxpayers can meet with IRS personnel who can assist with:
• Account Inquiries (help with letters, notices and levies on your wages or bank account)
• Adjustments (changes to tax account information or payments)
• Alien Clearances
• Application for Taxpayer Assistance Order (ATAO)
• Copies of Tax Returns & Transcript (Usually available for current year and three prior years)
• Help with preparing Form 2290
• Payment Arrangements
• Procedural Inquiries
• Solutions to Tax Issues
• Tax Law Assistance (answer related to your individual Federal Tax Return)
• Taxpayer Indentification Numbers

Please bring to the Tax Clinic:
· Social Security Card (or Taxpayer ID Number-ITIN) for you, your children, and your spouse
· Proof of Health Insurance- bring your 1099HC or Health Insurance Card(s) for you and all family members
· All W-2 forms
· All 1099 forms-1099G for unemployment and/or 1099R for pension payments
· All 1098T forms for tuition payments and receipts for books and materials
· Total childcare expenses in 2010 and the name, address, Employer Identification Number (EIN) or Social Security Number for your child care provider(s)
· 1098E forms for student loan interest paid
· Total rent paid in 2010
· Any mail from the IRS
· A copy of last year’s tax return
· Your bank account and routing numbers to directly deposit your refund
· Total real estate paid in 2010 (if applicable)
· Proof of sales tax and fees paid if you bought a car after February 16th, 2009 (if applicable)
· All closing documents for all first-time homebuyers (if applicable)
